To maximise potential of an awkward science park site, the building features an ‘A’ shaped plan with a generous atrium entrance space that forms a co-working hub and amenities zone. Two wings wrap around the central atrium and core, providing two distinct functions; laboratory space and rooftop plant which is serviced to the rear for deliveries, gas and stores: and office space overlooking the park.
The main atrium is protected from solar gain with a sweeping curve of solar shading that screens low-level sun whilst allowing an abundance of daylight to pour into the heart of the space. This sweeping arch forms a distinctive and iconic presence on the site, and signifies the drop-off and main entrance.
