Earlier this year, Head of Sustainability Mario Vieira took part in the Architects' Journal Summit, where they discussed the future of buildings, and how best to adapt and protect our fast changing world.
Trends towards 2030 show a focus on ‘intelligent, flexible and sustainable’ construction, with artificial intelligence reducing planning and building times, while renewable energy sources will be connected in an ‘intelligent way’.
‘I think it’s a bit like conquering Mars,’ said Vieira. ‘We have got what we need on the land but we just need to deal with it better and treat it better.’
