Scott Brownrigg have been shortlisted for Education Architect of the Year at the Building Design Awards.

Celebrating the best in architecture, the awards recognise a body of work across different sectors, honouring overall achievement within these. This provides providing a meaningful premise on which to compare the work of different architects.

Our education team work globally on projects for learners of all ages, encompassing a wide variety of providers, institutions, educational models, curricula and special needs. Our expertise and work ranges widely in context, scale and complexity, working with innovative funding models and facilities that support Special Educational Needs. We consistently demonstrate excellence in delivering value and functionality with projects for learners of all ages whilst also promoting best practice in innovative, sustainable and social design.

Our shortlist reflects a strong body of work within our Education sector over recent years, with projects that include: St Georges Activity Centre in Weybridge - located on green belt land, with a challenging four metre drop across the site, it incorporates an undulating timber roof that blends the cathedral-like spaces into the landscape - currently shortlisted for an RIBA Award; State-of-the art suburban schools realised through innovative funding models including Three Rivers Academy - the only UK school shortlisted for the 2018 WAF Best School Project Award and the 2,000 pupil Howard of Effingham School which incorporates a specialist Autism Centre; and highly environmentally sustainable projects like Stoneywood Primary School - one of the largest cross laminated timber education buildings in Scotland.

The winners will be announced at an awards event at The Brewery, London on 23 October.

This shortlisting builds upon our Educational Architect of the Year award win at last year’s Education Estates.
