Scott Brownrigg has been listed within BD’s prestigious annual WA100 survey of the world’s largest practices, ranked by the number of fee-earning architects they employ. The practice has been ranked 82 in the world, a jump of 22 places from 104 last year, reflecting the positive changes and growth it has undergone in the last year.
Scott Brownrigg returns to the Top 100 after increasing its architect numbers by 49. This rise follows two key moves in 2015: in New York, the practice opened an office to support expansion into North America; in the UK, it acquired GMW Architects and GMW Architects International. These now operate under the Scott Brownrigg brand, strengthening the practice’s expertise in transport, aviation and City of London schemes.
The aviation sector has been a particular area of expansion, with the practice lead designer on what will be the largest single terminal in the world at Istanbul Grand Airport. Scott Brownrigg has also launched a new sector specialism of Advanced Technologies to focus on the transformative impact of technology on cities and architecture.
