We have partnered with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) to launch the RIBA Scott Brownrigg Award for Sustainable Development.

The Award, now calling for applications, funds research to address environmental and ethical issues and enhance the quality of life of communities across the globe.

It will offer £5,000 to an individual or team to develop an architecture research project, lasting between three and twelve months, that focuses on one or more of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

RIBA President Simon Allford said:

“We’re delighted to partner with Scott Brownrigg on this new research programme, that further confirms our commitment as signatories of the UN Global Compact. The Award will encourage innovative and critical research, which will help the built environment better support sustainable development across the globe. I strongly encourage applications from cross-disciplinary teams, students, graduates and qualified architects and look forward to reviewing the submitted proposals.”

Head of Sustainability at Scott Brownrigg Mario Vieira said:

“As an international practice and signatory to the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge, Architects Declare and the UN Global Compact, we acknowledge our responsibility and the opportunity we have to enrich lives through the built environment. The RIBA Scott Brownrigg Award for Sustainable Development gives us a fantastic vehicle to support and invest in emerging talent and develop the new ideas required to address the complex global issues we face today.”

The deadline for applications is 5pm (GMT) on Friday 24 June 2022.
