Board Director Neil MacOmish will be joining the Urban Land Institute [ULI] New York Technical Assistance Panel on 29-30 October 2019 to consult on the Bronx Soccer Stadium.
Neil’s background in sport stadia and civic architecture has led to his selection as a panellist to inform the design and lead the community engagement of the new soccer stadium in New York City. The stadium will include mixed-use development, public realm and infrastructure in the Bronx.
The agenda includes a site visit and tour, stakeholder interviews and working sessions for the panel. The two-day event will culminate with a presentation of the panel’s recommendations prior to the publishing of the report in the following weeks.
Neil has been involved with many of Scott Brownrigg’s high profile schemes over the years including the Swalec Stadium Redevelopment, The Oval Cricket Ground, Celtic Manor Masterplan, the International Convention Centre in Newport, Cardiff Ice Arena, shortlisted for World Architecture News Award 2017, and the Museum of Military Medicine, which was shortlisted for a WAF Future Project Award for Culture. In August this year, Neil gave a keynote speech at Féile an Phobail, Ireland’s biggest arts festival, on our tourism masterplan for Mount Ngongotaha, New Zealand.
