Introducing our newly promoted Associates; Thijs Karrenbeld, Douaa Abdulhadi, Matthew Humphreys, Michelle Brennan.
Based in our Amsterdam studio, Thijs’s ability to manage multiple projects and tasks whilst delivering to a high standard is admirable. Currently working within our Advanced Technologies team, notably projects include Data Centre projects throughout Europe and Singapore and the JKT Smart Shed. As well as exploring further opportunities and expanding our business in the Netherlands and Western Europe, he also initiated the social contact pod concept during lockdown, developed and worked on in conjunction with colleagues from our UK studios.
Douaa’s strong design and technical expertise, alongside her positive and supportive approach make her a key member of our Interior Design leadership team. She successfully delivers the Project Lead and Technical Lead roles, whilst driving improvements in BIM. She takes an active role in mentoring and up-skilling other team members and is encouraging and inspirational. She is a WELL building accredited professional, a member of the Knowledge + Practice Forum and a sustainability champion. She ensures the team engage and keep updated with the latest industry thinking and innovation.
Matt is a natural in communicating with people at all levels, taking a keen interest in all areas of the business. Initially part of our Singapore team, he easily transferred and adapted to working in our London studio, contributing to projects across a number of sectors. He’s became a key member of our sister brand - Design Delivery Unit, working on 9 Millbank, Marian Place, and contributing to the Design Delivery Unit team’s ethos. Matt strongly promotes our culture and is involved in many extra-curricular activities such as the Wellness and Culture Team and Future Architects Forum. He has recently become a mentor for our apprentices, and is also a staff representative.
Michelle has been responsible for the smooth management of our entire global bid process for a number of years. Delivering numerous successful, often complex, quality bids, she demonstrates commitment, diligence and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, often within very challenging timeframes. Maintaining a professional and positive approach whilst building her own team, she provides valuable support to others.
