As a practice, we have established long-term relationships, and regularly raised funds and donated our time and skills in support of charities whose values align with ours.

We formalised this in 2023 through the introduction of our Community Involvement Programme, enabling and supporting all our employees to contribute towards creating something of value. The programme provides every employee with a paid day of leave per year to volunteer for a charitable organisation or community project of their choice.

In October, our Edinburgh studio volunteered at The Yard, a local adventure play area in Edinburgh for disabled children, young people and their families. Together the team helped to remove garden waste and gave seating and play areas a new lease of life with a clean and some fresh wood chippings.

A small team of volunteers from our studio in Guildford visited the Rosamund Community Garden in Guildford to learn how to finish a cob-built project called ‘The hub’- a shelter, meeting place, classroom and venue within the garden. The team had a great day out, learning new construction techniques and how to coppice overgrown willow. We look forward to returning to Rosamund Community Garden to help with future projects.
