Scott Brownrigg’s book “CDM 2015: A Practical Guide for Architects and Designers” has been highly commended by the Association for Project Safety (APS) for the CDM Innovation Award.

Written by Scott Brownrigg in conjunction with RIBA Publishing, the book is a designer’s essential guide to implementing the CDM 2015 regulations. It provides both a straightforward overview of the key changes and new duty holders, including the Principal Designer, as well as full colour diagrams and annotated plans which demonstrate how to apply the principles in the real world. It is a must-have handy reference guide for all designers and architects who will need to utilise the latest regulations in their projects, as well as the contractors, clients and consultants who will need to understand and collaborate with them.

In the opinion of the judges: "The book deserved recognition. It has an innovate approach to CDM offering a practical guide to Architects and Designers. The use of a CDM Analysis and Options Matrix provides a very visual identification of hazards and design solutions.”

Held at The George Hotel in Edinburgh, the APS awards recognise excellence in Design and Construction Health and Safety Risk Management. The event was attended by scores of industry professionals including the APS Board of Directors, Peter Baker – Chief Inspector of Construction at HSE and Clare Adamson, MSP.
